About
Meet Dr. Gregory Loewen, DO FCCP Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Provider
For over 30 years, I've dedicated my life to the practice of medicine, specializing in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care. I have personally provided conscious sedation for thousands of patients who required procedures from me as a pulmonary critical care specialist. My practice has always been about safety.
However, I will add that my journey has been shaped by more than just my professional experiences. As someone who has navigated personal trauma, addiction, and recovery, I understand deeply the struggles many people face. My personal history has not only informed my compassionate approach to care but also led me to specialize in psychedelic medicine, offering Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). I have the honor of practicing with a skilled group of trauma informed therapists who also offer KAP with me at our location in Amherst (Jenna Witkowski LCSW, Ofer Ziv LCSW, and Mindi Lobuzzetta LMHC). In addition to my Amherst mental health practice, I also am honored to serve as a consultant at Roswell Park for their Psychedelic Science Initiative, where we participate in ongoing clinical research trials which offer psychedelic medicine therapeutics including ketamine and psilocybin.
I believe that lasting healing comes from consciousness and connection. My mission is to help individuals rediscover their inner strength and to understand themselves in a new way. My approach is always personal. I see myself not only as your physician, but as your guide to help you find your way on this healing journey.

What Sets My Practice Apart
Focused Individual and Team Care
As a solo practitioner in Buffalo, NY, I offer a kind of engagement and attention that is rare in the field. Unlike other providers, I do not charge therapists to work with me. I believe in building a collaborative community of therapists, centered on the well-being of our shared clients.
Comprehensive Services
My services include an initial consultations to determine medical eligibility for KAP. I also may provide KAP sessions myself , including preparation, the KAP session, and integration therapy afterwards. I also offer medical marijuana consultations for those who struggle with PTSD symptoms like anxiety or panic.

I Serve You and Your Whole Community of Care
I welcome and value diversity in my practice. It is important to me that my practice is a safe space for BIPOC and LGBTQIA individuals.
My practice is focused on individuals who seek direct treatment for themselves, and on therapists who seek a prescriber for their clients.
